We’re kicking off the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) MeetUp Monday, January 28th in a virtual setting to celebrate Data Privacy Day 2019. If you enjoy discussing Data Privacy with other like-minded folks come and join us and help bring data privacy awareness to your organization. This MeetUp brings together privacy practitioners, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) leaders, and others interested in and leading their GDPR/privacy transformations. The goal of this group is to discuss and share learnings, emerging best practices, technical solutions, and keep up to date on regulation changes. This year we will be expanding our privacy scope beyond GDPR and into other areas like California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) plus other state and country regulations, privacy engineering, and privacy best practices.
In the spirit of Data Privacy Day, Janelle Hsia and Carlin Dornbusch from American Cyber Security Management will be presenting a virtual event (both with slides and collaboration) to discuss the emerging privacy trends of 2019. Please attend this informational event on-line and collaborate with your colleagues and share your thoughts and opinions as well.

Being prepared for a cyber attack and knowing what to do when the worst occurs can save you time, money, and even your entire business!
Most US companies cobble together single-use applications to develop workflows and manage their day-to-day business. The conundrum is that GDPR and data privacy compliance become unwieldy across so many different platforms.
GDPR. HIPAA. PCI. CCPA. As a business owner, it is your responsibility to make sure that your organization is in compliance with the ever-changing regulatory environment around data protection. It can be hard to keep up especially as you are designing and deploying new technology.
What is the best way to protect your data? How can encrypted data protect your business? What is the best approach to encrypting your data? Come learn about this topic from the experts. This MeetUp brings together privacy practitioners, GRC leads, and others interested in and leading their GDPR transformations. The goal of this group is to discuss and share learnings, emerging best practices, technical solutions, and keep up to date on regulation changes.
